maurice NEEDS AN ADULT

So [info]katanisk bullied me into digging out my dad's old copy of It by Stephen King. As you can see from the picture it's either very loved or nobody's loved it for years and years. I'm only on page 35 but so far it's holding my attention!

So, it's Saturday morning. Spring Break is more or less over. It wasn't terribly eventful and I'm a-okay with that! I ended up getting kind of sick towards the middle with a cold because the weather keeps yo-yoing. I finally finished reading Common and Precious by Tim Sussman and loved it! I've subscribed to Sofawolf's LJ updates and they mentioned that they were accepting submissions for the fourth issue of their short story anthrology "New Fables". I think I'm going to try and write one to submit! I can illustrate it myself too maybe.

New Fables: Summer 2008
BUY MEEEEEE

I got my copy in today and I read the whole thing! I really liked the stories and the one poem about skunks. I'd reccomend it. It's got one of my favorite authors and one author of a book I was concidering buying. I didn't know it was him until I finished the story and really enjoyed it. I'll be buying his book next.

I'm also thinking about trying to send something in to Furplanet. My only beef there is that 80% of it is like...porn. 8I OH WELL. THATS FURRIES FOR YOU. OH, FURRIES. I'm not going to bother with it until I get some of my schoolwork out of the way.

My grades aren't so hot. If I have to repeat something, it isn't the end of the world.  And I'd be a little ahead maybe. JUST A LITTLE. I'm also thinking about taking three classes instead of just two but I'm not sure yet. I've got all the time I need. I'm already aware that I'll probably bein college until my 30's hit.  Only two more months left in this semester. I missed pre-reg so I'll just have to scrape the barrel when normal registration rollsa round. Wolfy, you loser!

Hhhguuhhhh sleepy. Going to bednow. Have to pick up sticks later

We had our family Christmas today and I had a good time! I explored new cheeses and there were many inappropriate laughs to be had!

For the past few years, we've dropped the buying-everybody-gifts thing since there are no little kids in the family anymore. Instead, we all get together and play dirty Santa.

This year, it involved a pillow neck massager shaped like a monkey.
You can guess where that went.
Fast.

Also included were 'man chocolates' and a 'box of meat'. I'll let you make those ones up for yourselves. I was unoriginal and bought batteries.

However earlier than that came the best laugh of the day.

Scene: My nephew Derrik is like...sixteen or seventeen now or something and they were opening stockings. My sister Pam (his aunt) had given him a giftcard he could use at the gas station and things like this, however Tina (his mother) did not know it. The scene plays out as follows:

Derrik: Ooh, goody *tears paper off a cleverly-disgusied crystal light box that the card was taped in* What is it?

Pam: :3 It's something every teenaged boy needs!

Tina:  *gets this really big-eyed 'did she really get him what I thought she got him' momma look* >8C
Pam: 8(...what?....D8 NO!

Me: *no longer able to breathe*

>8I GAS CARD CAN PREVENT STD'S!

THE END.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!

Huhuhuhuhuh Harry Potter *inhaler*

MY HORN IS MADE OF FAIL

General public: WOLFY. WHAT DID YOU DO YESTERDAY.

8D Well, gang! I went to get the Good Ship Misery inspected! I followed mom up there and unlike the last time I followed somebody to a place of automotives, I did not follow the wrong car to the other side of town. Turns out, my horn is broked. They think the fuse is out or something so dad said he'd fix it. They still gave me my sticker. Also, D8 did you know it costs five extra dorrah to have window tint? I did not! Wolfy was not happy so Wolfy is thinking about getting that crap taken off!

After that, I was pretty much on my own after bawwwing to mom about my horn dilemma. I went on a MYSTICAL POST OFFICE ADVENTURE. This isn't so much just making an epic title for humor's sake about dropping off a package. My MYSTICAL POST OFFICE ADVENTURES (or MPAs) are just that. Our post office has this habit of MOVING. I swear it does. I'll take one rout to it one day and it will be there. I take the same rout another, and it's ONE BLOCK OVER. Now. Somebody got the bright idea to place said post office in the shallows of the downtown ghetto. This means I'm navigating the Ship through TEENY TINY BADLY LABELED STREETS that sometimes turn out to be ridiculously shaped driveways. After some choice words and panicing, I finally managed to locate the mystical moving post office.

COMMISSION MAILED!

While leaving, there was some hullabaloo (caused by me 8'D) at an intersection where nobody knew who's turn it was to go. I made some old woman mad. She'll get over it.

It was still pretty early so I swung by the book store to wait for Mcdonalds to start serving lunch-type food. I got my first Neil Gaiman book! It's called Anansi Boys and it's pretty good so far. I really enjoyed getting to wander around the store on my own and sit in the floor, taking my time. I always feel antsy when I'm just looking and have somebody with me. I hate lagging folks. It always inspires and worries me looking at the newer titles on the shelves. There's always that "CRAP! I thought about writing that!" that all writer's experience and it bums you the heck out. But then you get to read it because it's something you like anyway.

THEN, I drove to Mcdonalds. There wasn't a very long line and since I've gotten my muffler fixed, the wait with my window down wasn't excruciating. I could even hear my Reliant K CD. I acquired lunchins and DROVE AWAY INTO THE SUNSET...SUNRISE...Whateverhappensbeforenoon.

I chilled at the house for a while and Kat calls. LET US GO TO CHURCH TONIGHT says I and she's like 8D K! So I go pick her up and come back home. We goof around and I get a shower until it's time to leave.By this time, my brother has come home and for some UNKNOWN REASON parks his work truck behind mine, takes the keys, and leaves for the movies in the other car, leaving me trapped in the carport of a bazillion other manless vehicles.

SO.

We didn't get to go to church. BC Instead we had a short fellowship at home and continued hanging out until they got home at some late hour, past the time for Kat to take her meds at home. GEE THANKS DAVID. YOU ALMOST MADE MY FRIEND SICK.

THEN I DIED UNTIL THIS MORNING. The end.

Tell me that you're alright!

Daaahhrrrr Art Block! I haven't made a stroke in days, save a flower I drew for a friend.  Maybe it's a sign I need to get back up to snuff on my few other talents. I've been writing pretty good though! Two David and Casey sections in one month! I hope I can do that again this month. I've still got some ideas and I think I know where I want the story to go. So there's good news for you readers! That's right, ALL THREE OF YOU. <3

I've been READING again. Before last month, the last book I'd read was in November 07 during NaNoHell. I dread it rolling around again. I failed last year and disappointed myself along with a few other people. This year I'm going to try what's been working with D&C-- that is starting out fresh with new characters and just letting them do whatever they want. NaNo07 had an outline and concept art and stuff.

BUT ANYWAY:

The books I've been reading. I finished "Breaking the Ice: Stories from New Tibet" edited by Tim Susman. My first bit of furry fiction I ever bought. I was really impressed! It was a collection of short stories by different authors but they were all set in the same place and went with the same continuity. Sometimes characters popped up in multiple stories. I know it it's a low assumption, but I was impressed by the lack of pointless and graphic sex. I think love-making was mentioned about twice but was done tastefully and didn't knock the story off its feet. There were LOTS of sad endings, but I still recommend it to anybody who's interested in furry fiction. I'm totally gonna order the sequel and then the stand-alone novel the editor himself wrote.

Currently, I'm reading "Summon the Keeper" by Tanya Huff and I am in LOVE with it. It makes me lol and aww and go ooh cool on about every page. It's kind of like a lady version of Terry Prachett.
